With Aishwarya Rai creating waves at the Cannes this with her stunning look, she seemed to be the star attraction then. With some criticism in the recent past about her weight gain and reduced style quotient, she is back with a bang and looking more gorgeous than ever. There is no doubt that she has evolved over the years in terms of style. She has come a long way from being Ms World to the international superstar and style icon she is today.

The most talked about event when it comes to Aishwarya Rai is the Cannes Film Festival where she has been making an appearance on the red carpet for over a decade.

Her first appearance was in the year 2003, when she was the first Indian to be part of the jury at Cannes. But her first appearance wasn’t the best of her appearances and she faced a lot of flack for her outfits worn that year. Each of her looks at the entire event were an absolute fashion disaster. 2004, wasn’t a better year for her either.

In 2005, she upped her game a little, played it a little safe with a milder and barely-there makeup look, and managed to save herself from the Fashion police’s harshness. In 2006, we saw her in glamorous look with her stunning chiseled features being shown off to bring her to the level of an international star. In 2007, she made her first appearance at the Cannes with her husband Abhishek Bachchan, but didn’t look her best yet again. From 2009, it was her sleek look really came into the spotlight—glossy nude lips and subtle streaks of color on her hair added to the glam quotient. Continuing this wave of drop-dead gorgeousness until 2012. In 2013, she tried to be more experimental and moved away from her usual ‘safe’ looks, by working more with colors, adding a pop of bright colors to her look. In 2014, she looked like the role she was born to play – a big international movie star. The gold Cavalli gown with fiery red lip color, will definitely be her best look. This year, yet again she continues to look her drop dead gorgeous self and working with various colors has worked well for her. One can’t deny she has started to look better than ever.
